Blush Virginia Farmhouse Wedding
Lindsey and David’s Virginia Farmhouse wedding is all about elegance at the refined barn! While we love classic barn weddings that dot the area; this wedding is an elevated chic look for the typical Loudoun barn venue. Blush accents chosen by the bride for her favorite color paired perfectly with natural green foliage support the grooms favorite hues all crafted by J. Morris Flowers. How did you both meet? “Call it cliché or call it romantic, but our story begins at our church! My husband had been attending our church a full year prior to my arrival, and my first day was not unlike any other first days; nervous, cautious, with a bit of hopeful excitement for the new things to come. I would later learn that that same day for my husband would be a bit different for him. He often reminds me of how he had fallen love-at-first-sight on that day.
“Really?” I would fire back with a suspicious look and a skeptical smile, “Then why didn’t you do anything?”. 6 months of attendance and not even a hello seemed too long, even for the “play it cool” game. “Because I thought you were in high school!” he explained. David had been hesitant to make a move because He thought I was much younger than him! It took him 6 months to figure out that I was in his same age range. It’s something I still like to tease him about.”
Tell us about your wedding style: “We chose a very natural, romantic styled wedding. Since it was fall time, we wanted to go with a barn wedding, but nothing too rustic. The Willow Brook Barn fit our vision perfectly with its natural wood interior and elegant chandelier lighting. It was a gorgeous white barn overlooking the countryside. The thoughtful designs, beautiful details, and ample accommodations spoke to us. Staff were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I can say it was truly the most beautiful venue we could’ve ever asked for.”
What was most important to you when planning? “On the top of the list was that we wanted the wedding to represent us. Showing our personalities and love for each other. David was a full time pre-med student while we were planning the wedding so he was very busy. But I made sure to include him in the decision making process. Although having a very similar style and taste which works out well.
The venue was very important to us so it was worth every penny! It was gorgeous and perfect for our fall wedding! We also splurged and got a photo booth. We had been to other weddings prior to ours that had photo booths and we had so much fun taking pictures there. We wanted our guests to have the same enjoyment at our wedding!”
DIY or favors? “My mom made the wedding favors! Using clear plastic bags, we put mixed nuts in them and added a homemade label on the outside that said “Nuts about each other.” We wanted the favors to be something that people could use, and that was on the healthier side since I’m a nutritionist.”
