Gold Gilded French Inspired Wedding
Today’s styled shoot features the brand new venue, Perry Belmont House. This beautiful Washington DC wedding venue sits on a corner near DuPont Circle and the history surrounding the house is amazing. It was built in 1909 by a Parisian architect and is filled with stunning gilded gold accents. The theme of today’s wedding inspiration was French princess meets Greece! The bold floral design was inspired by the stunning cascading pink floral called Bougainvillea, a flower that is everywhere on Greek islands. The petals down the staircase looked like a soft breeze blew the Bougainvillea flowers around. Such a pretty touch. Wanting to play off of the crisp hot pink/fuchsia, the team opted to integrate velvety blues and gold to accent. Blue is a stunning pop of color that evokes thoughts of the Greek isles.
Our favorite detail of the shoot has to be the unique wedding cake. The ribbon is made of sugar! We were absolutely blown away by how real it looks. The card on the place setting is Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare, which is a fun little detail. Instead of doing a traditional menu card, they wanted each guest to enjoy a beautiful Sonnet to remember why they were there – for the love of two people. Thank you to Kurstin Roe Photography for sharing this French inspired styled shoot with us today!
