Bright Hay Adams Wedding Inspiration
November 20, 2020

Inspired by the bold color blocking trend, this Hay Adams wedding inspiration pairs soft pastel and vibrant tones to create a visually captivating and colorfully daring palette. The geometric details and modern styling adds a fun contrast to the classically iconic DC wedding venue, located in the heart of the city. It was the perfect backdrop for modern inspiration. Featuring a bright and bold tabletop design adorned with fresh fruit and layers upon layers of texture and complimenting pops of color by Luxe and Luna. We have loved this color combo for so long, watchin it evolve on West Coast weddings. Hopefully it becomes more of a trend in DC wedding décor that we can see more of in the upcoming year. Thank you Bonnie Sen Photography for sharing this inspiration with us today!

Industrial Meets Boho Wedding Inspiration
November 4, 2020

Today’s DC wedding inspiration is unique, sweet, and full of love. The idea to fuse two traditionally different aesthetics, with Industrial meets Boho wedding inspiration; created a beautiful new design that we are living for! The boho tabletop decor and florals are striking against the industrial backdrop of Tenth Ward Distilling Company. The red brick and wood floors tie in the colors from the intimate ceremony design and the sweetheart table setup. The end result is a warm, romantic vibe that we adore.

We also can’t get enough of the ladies wardrobe changes. The more traditional wedding attire choices worn during the ceremony pair perfectly with the more funky, fun attire for post ceremony photos. How cute are they?! Thank you to  A+M Photography for sharing this same sex industrial meets boho wedding inspiration with us today!

Old World Anderson House Wedding Inspiration
September 14, 2020

Welcome to another beautiful DC wedding week, kicking off with a romantic old world inspired Anderson House wedding inspiration. This wedding inspiration shoot was inspired by the uniquely historic Larz Anderson House. Located in the center of Washington D.C.’s Embassy Row, the mansion is full of French, English, and Italian influences. From the carved wood walls, to the gilded ceilings and intricate marble floors.  The DC planning team of Jessica Ashley Events, chose neutral florals with large ivory blooms and lush greenery to compliment the lovely space. The richness and grandeur of this venue gave inspiration for gold metal, velvet, and soft lavender accents throughout the stationery and table settings. For this summer ceremony, the outdoor setting by the turquoise pool proved to be the perfect backdrop, complete with Lavender Sorbet and Champagne – nothing better on a hot day.We love all the intimate details and thank you to the team for sharing a gorgeous inspiration story to kick off the week.

Bohemian Intimate Wedding Inspiration
May 15, 2020

In light of the new social distancing and weddings; today’s bohemian intimate DC wedding inspiration showcases how you can have a petite wedding while maintaining a theme you love! Having a smaller wedding or DC elopement doesn’t mean you have to give up your style or fun details! We encourage couples to embrace rich tones, textured linens and wild grasses to achieve this whimsical bohemian design.  Couples looking for cool spaces to host their intimate weddings in the district are in luck! The district has an abundance of venues off the beaten path, like Engine Company 12, that host small DC weddings.  For unique tabletop ideas, look no further than your grocery store.  We chose apples for an unexpected approach to tie in a deep red and to serve as our place cards.  Even with intimate weddings having a great group of wedding pro’s will keep everything stress!

Earthy Mount Ida Farm Inspiration
April 23, 2020

We often hear that readers think wedding floral design and decor can feel wasteful when the party is over. Leaving behind thousands of dollars in florals after the party is a shame. In today’s sustainable wedding inspiration, this fabulous team brought together the idea of recycling materials and composting post wedding to ensure we are being earth friendly! We love the use of textured florals that can be used for more than one arrangement, in natural tones and shades. Did you see the unique textured elements such as Pampas grass centerpieces, circular sweetheart table backdrop and scripted rock place cards? Alternative methods to a sustainable wedding include recycled wedding invitations and eco friendly favors such as plantable flower seed pods. Thank you to Hart of Grace Photography for sharing this lovely inspo with us today!

Abundance of Greenery Wedding Inspiration
February 21, 2020

How much do we love all the fabulous DC wedding inspiration we have had this week? Did you catch the the romantic Lincoln Memorial Proposal or Monday’s Luxe University of Maryland wedding? We are closing out the week with a creative greenery wedding inspiration at Fathom Gallery. At the end of December, the team came together to use the abundance of remaining greenery and florals to create this unique wedding inspiration. We love the over flowing ceremony arch of fluffy white blooms and twinkling taper candles by Bee Inspired Events. Weddings that are filled with greenery and less florals is becoming more popular. And with inspo like this we can see why! Thank you to the creative team for sharing with us today. Come visit next week for more gorgeous DC weddings.

Romantic Virginia Barn Wedding Inspiration
February 10, 2020

Welcome back for a beautiful week of DC wedding inspiration and folks, do we have some great content for you this week! We took a little break last week from our blogging. But we are excited to be back with today’s 6 Pastures Virginia barn wedding inspo shoot. This creative team, led by Franzi Lee Photography; brought together eco-friendly florals in a bohemian inspired wedding setting. How amazing is the floral ceremony arch by Carper’s Weddings and Events? I love non-traditional ceremony structures, and it alongside the fall tones makes for a romantic yet unique backdrop. Thank you to the entire team for sharing this lovely feature with us, and stay tuned this week for glam 1920’s wedding inspiration and a great DC Hotel Wedding from one of our favorite DC wedding vendor teams!

Emerald Barn Wedding Inspiration
January 15, 2020

Our typically unpopular opinion is that, magnolia leaves are one of the most underutilized greens for DC area weddings. We love their hearty texture, nod to classic southern foliage, and the depth they bring to bridal bouquets and centerpieces. Petals Edge Floral Design worked with our favorite greens, in todays emerald barn wedding inspiration shoot. The bride’s dense textured bouquet was perfect for the emerald wintery tones through this beautiful inspiration shoot. The team on this creative inspiration wanted to offer a more rich color story for winter brides who wanted an alternative to the traditional “holiday color stories” seen during the winter months. We love it! Thank you to D.A.M Fotografy for sharing this lovely inspiration shoot with us! Make sure to check out more Magnolia wedding inspiration in our archives if you love this look as much as we do.

Ruby Red Late Summer Wedding Inspiration
December 30, 2019

Today’s ruby red later summer wedding inspiration was designed to showcase the shift from summer to early fall. The sunset tones that are visible throughout, including the stunny ruby accents, compliment the exquisite sunsets seen from the shore of Great Oak Manor, the Maryland wedding venue that served as the beautiful backdrop for this styled shoot. The elegant invitation suite, menus, and place cards feel both vintage and modern with elegant script and a custom monogram. We love that the suite is tied together with a silk ribbon; such a sweet, feminine touch that really elevates the whole set.

Long farmhouse tables were beautifully set with elegant crystal glasses & bohemian accents such as the charger plate and the velvet napkin tie. We adore the touches of pampas grass present in the lush centerpiece. They tie back to the sprig’s in the bride’s bouquet as well! It’s a great fall accent that gives the florals loads of texture and a little whimsy. The cake, a beautiful two toned ruby and white confection, included a floral accent. The gold flecks present on the leaves add to the endless unique and timeless elements of the shoot. Thank you to  Megan Bennett Photography for sharing this elegant summer to fall wedding inspiration with us!
