Sweet Hyattsville Anniversary Session
November 30, 2018

We hope you all aren’t tiring of us featuring pups in a lot of sessions these days! We absolutely love when couples decide to include their furry friends in their DC engagement sessions or wedding anniversary sessions. Today’s sweet Sweet Hyattsville anniversary session was just too cute not to share.

The couple started the session in their home with Winston, and we love the cozy at home feeling of their photos. As if spending time with an adorable pup wasn’t enough, the rest of their session took place around the Hyattsville Arts District, with stops at Vigilante coffee, and every wall mural they could find. Their session was even more proof that raining evenings can still make for beautiful photo ops! Thank you to Marlayna Photography for sharing this with us today.

A Stroll Through DC Engagement Session
March 9, 2018

Ariel and Steven met by happenstance when they lived the in same apartment. They were separated by just two floors! Throughout their courtship the two traveled. They took a vacation to Switzerland last year that would change their lives forever. Staying at an adorable AirBnB, Steven knew he wanted to make Ariel his fire. In the most intimate setting in front of their roaring fireplace he proposed that they get married! Fast forward a few months and the pair were part of a beautiful dc landmarks engagement session.

During their wedding planning journey the pair found Marlayna Photography and they decided to take a tour for their DC landmarks engagement session. Stopping first at the Potomac waterfront followed by the historic Canals, they found the best spots for their Georgetown engagement session! We love when couples change up their engagement outfit inspiration, and with a switch from neutrals to a pop of berry, Ariel and Steven rounded out their day at the grand DC monuments. Thank you to Marlayna Photography for sharing this inspired DC landmarks engagement session with us today!

Boho Romantic Waterside Wedding
October 25, 2017

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today we have a really romantic Maryland waterfront wedding for your viewing pleasure. For their big day Kathy and John went for a relaxed tented wedding on the water. There are so many things about this wedding that we are really feeling. For example, the bride wore a gorgeous boho style BHLDN gown with a blush under layer with unique lace overlay. We love it when bride’s choose gowns that are a reflection of their personality. Not every bride has the same street style, so why would they all wear the same type of wedding gown? You won’t want to miss Kathy’s choice! We also can’t get over the adorable first look these two shared. Seriously, their happiness and joy is infectious!
Their simple reception details are light and airy with touches of burlap and baby’s breath. And don’t forget to check out their super cute takeaway favors! They’re individual succulents! When choosing favors for your guests, go for something you would want to take home at the end of the night. Food and plants are always a hit! Thank you to Marlayna Photography for sharing this romanic boho Maryland wedding with us today!

Literature Inspired Romantic Wedding Day
June 26, 2017

Jessica and Shane’s Maryland wedding day came together beautifully, from a teary-eyed first look, to portraits in the city, and romantic book-themed details at their venue, Elkridge Furnace Inn! They wove many personalized touches into their decor. One of our favorite of these details were the three painted bricks. Each one was representative of Baltimore locations that were important to their relationship. Make sure you check them out; they’re so adorable! We love how Jessica and Shane’s day was based around their love of books, with favorites used in centerpieces and floral arrangements. It was really representative of them as a couple. After all, isn’t that what the perfect wedding day should be all about?

After photos with their bridal party around Harbor East, they made their way to Elkridge Furnace Inn for a beautiful and personal ceremony. They opted to write their own vows. They inserted tons of heart and some humor; we love when a couple can really be themselves during their vows! When it was time for the party, the dance floor was packed the whole night! Thank you to Marlayna Photography for sharing this beautiful literature themed wedding with us today.

Sweet and Saucy Ellicott City Engagement Session
June 23, 2017

We hope everyone had a great first day of summer. Are you enjoying the beautiful weather we have had all week? We have seen so much lovely wedding inspiration in the last few weeks, as the DC wedding season is in full swing. Make sure to tag us on social media with your wedding planning and wedding day photos (#UWLweddings).  We will be sharing some of our favorites with our readers all summer long!

For today’s adorable Ellicott City engagement session, Dreux and Patrick teamed up with Marlayna Photography to hit up some of their favorite spots for a sweet and saucy session! When picking the location for their Maryland engagement session, one of their must-stops was Rockburn Park. There is a cool house at the entrance to the park; it just so happens to be part of Patrick’s family history! His grandparents actually used to own it and lived there before it became a state park; it was naturally a perfect spot to start their session! After a quick change into an evening look, their engagement session was rounded out with a visit to Old Ellicott City. There they walked along the gorgeous historic main street. Thank you to Marlayna Photography for sharing their special Ellicott City engagement session with us today!

Meridian Hill Park Wedding Engagement Session: Jeannie + Rye
November 24, 2015

Cozy up with us this chilly morning in Washington DC for a lovely fall themed wedding engagement session! Jeannie and Rye live in Philadelphia now, but are still very much connected to the DC area through family and friends. They are so connected that they’re getting married at the Inn at Huntingfield Creek in Rock Hall, MD next summer. Marlayna Photography photographed this happy couple’s wedding engagement session on a gorgeous autumn evening at the beautiful and picturesque Meridian Hill Park in northwest DC. I just love the photos of Jeannie and Rye from above. You can just see the incredible chemistry these two have
