Equestrian Brewery Themed Virginia Wedding
November 2, 2020 Alex Hamilton

The venue, Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables, was a lucky and accidental find, after popping up in a search in a different region. Horses are something that are extremely special to Lauren, as they remind her of her mother who passed away at a young age. Having the horses there, as the venue is an Equestrian Center, in a way helped make it feel like she was there as well. This Virginia wedding venue also had the added bonus of being connected to Stable Craft Brewery. Lauren and Reid’s first date was at a brewery, and trying new beers at various breweries is one of their favorite things to do together (notice the growler centerpieces!). The horses, brewery and beautiful mountain scenery made this venue an easy choice for the pair.

After the venue was selected, a color palette was chosen to compliment the scenery of the blue skies and green fields and mountains. The couple liked the relaxed atmosphere and wanted to continue the calming colors throughout their event. The wedding day flowers continued this color pallette and overall theme and included 3 types of eucalyptus (silver dollar, willow and baby blue), hops and spider mums. In addition, the boutonnieres for the guys were made with golf tees and hops, as golf is one of the grooms passions! The centerpieces included the bridesmaid bouquets on some tables as well as hand-placed eucalyptus stems and white spider mums in various sized beer growlers on the other tables. Dried hops were also strategically placed on the tables to keep on theme. Instead of table numbers “Gate Numbers” were used as a nod to horse racing (something the groom enjoys) and the tables were named after famous race horses! The wedding cake was a beautiful 3-tiered white cake with a geometric metal layer filled in with eucalyptus and white spider mum florals topped with a gold geometric heart made by the Bride. One of the layers included golden abstract hand brushing while the others included carefully textured white buttercream frosting. If you look closely at the cake signage, the bride gave each type of cake served a custom name tied into love; the same was done for the drink selections! We love all of these little details that really bring in the bride and groom’s personalities and celebrate their love.
