Charlie and Amanda met and fell in love in DC so at the start they knew that the city would play a part in their wedding. Amanda describes their original inspiration as “ethereal, simple and pretty with city vibes.” However despite months of planning, rain threatened to dampen their DC wedding day, which originally included a rooftop ceremony. Fortunately, seasoned florist Maria, of Darling & Daughters, and planner Amanda, of Beacon & Berkeley were able to put the pieces into place that allowed for the bride’s vision to come to fruition.
Another contributor to the beauty of their wedding was the bride’s own mother. In addition to welcome bags for guests she also designed the modern welcome sign and the escort card display board. She actually used the board from her own wedding but re-finished it to go with Amanda and Charlie’s décor and colors. How sweet is that? We love that the bride and her mother were both able to share this.
A pause in the rain allowed the newly married couple and their bridal party to go up to the rooftop. While it was a chance to take some gorgeous portraits, it was also a chance for Charlie and Amanda to catch their breath. “It was my absolute favorite moment of the day,” says Amanda. “We loved the view on the roof the minute we visited The LINE so it was a perfect first chance for us to be together on our own.” The exquisite architecture and design of The LINE Hotel, incredibly supportive vendors, and amazing friends and family took the focus off of the rain and onto the importance of Charlie and Amanda’s wedding day. “We both couldn’t stop smiling the entire day. We were surrounded by the most amazing and loving people in our lives. It was definitely a celebration that we will never forget.”
