When it comes to how Ashley and Greg met, they like to think that they were both in the right place at the right time! It was a Friday night at a bar in Annapolis. Ashley lived in Perry Hall and Greg lived in Olney at the time, neither being a regular visitor to Annapolis for any reason. However, they just happened to end up at the same bar. Ashley was out celebrating her future (at the time!) sister-in-law’s birthday and bachelorette party, and Greg was just hanging out with his friend after taking in an afternoon Orioles game. It was one of those they “locked eyes across the room” kind of things. After that, Ashley followed her party to the outdoor bar and a few minutes later Greg showed up. He put his arm around Ashley’s shoulder and asked to buy her a drink. The rest is, as they say, history!
Living in the Shaw neighborhood of DC, Ashley and Greg knew they wanted their engagement photos to be full of color and fun, urban spots that they often visit and spend time enjoying together. Blagden Alley provided such a vibrant and unique backdrop for the shoot! With the neighborhood bar Lost and Found being one of their favorite funky spots, Naomi of Urban Row Photography just knew she had to capture the pair enjoying craft beer in front of a vinyl record covered wall. Their playful relationship was on display the entire time they explored Shaw together, ending during golden hour in an intimate urban pocket park and working garden space.
Tell us your proposal story. It happened in the most magical place, Disney World! We were on a trip to Disney World with Ashley’s mom. Disney has always been a special place to us, and this time Greg was around to join in the fun! We spent our days at the pool, in the parks (the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot is a must-do!) and just having a good time. Greg said that he had special plans just for the two of us on the Friday evening that we were there, and I was very surprised. He’s not much of a romantic or a surprise person, so I had no idea what was going on. So when Friday night rolled around, we ended up driving over to the Grand Floridian hotel where little did I know that Greg had chartered a private pontoon boat for the two of us for a boat ride around the lagoons and lakes of Disney. So we got on the boat where there was a bottle of champagne and had our tour and then the boat parked outside of the Magic Kingdom as the evening fireworks were going off, and Greg got down on one knee! I remember bits and pieces of what he said, but I was too excited! It was perfect in every way and something we will remember forever.
