Jessica and Daniel have been “together” since elementary school and they wanted their wedding day to be a reflection of their easy going love. They waited a long time to get to the altar as they wanted Daniel to finish law school. He is almost done but realized marrying Jessica was worth fast forwarding for! How adorable is that? I mean, they have been waiting since third grade so we totally get it. Their long lasting love led to today’s colorful rustic wedding!
The pair wanted a simple, rustic event where their guests could relax, have fun and celebrate with them. Riverside on the Potomac is the perfect mix of elegant and effortless; they were able to achieve the best of both worlds! Overall, they wanted their wedding to be a reflection of their favorite things as a couple. They opted to serve BBQ food for dinner and ice cream (their favorite treat!) instead of cake. It was so perfectly “them.”
Their whole day had dark clouds and it felt like it was going to downpour all day. Luckily Jessica and Daniel got through the ceremony and cocktail hour with no issues. Once the barn wedding reception started the rain fell. After a few minutes of that a giant, full rainbow emerged and the pair ran around Riverside on the Potomac taking photos of them, their perfect love, and that perfect rainbow. We can’t think of a more magical moment!
Tell us your proposal story. Daniel completely surprised me on this; I had no idea a proposal was coming! We both moved to Baltimore for school and work, but one Saturday morning, Daniel suggested we go back to our hometown of Frederick. After stopping for brunch (during which Daniel hardly ate), we went to Gambrill State Park, known for its overlooks of Frederick. We had spent many afternoons in high school and on break in college hiking the trails.
Daniel had planted one of his good friends in the park to be on hand for surreptitious pictures. While the two were taking our photo, Daniel got on one knee to propose. The pictures speak a thousand words; we will love them for a lifetime!
