Today’s travel themed St. Francis Hall wedding is one we know we would have loved to attend. It looks like so much fun! From a VW getaway car to a unicorn cake, what more could you ask for?
Brittany and Johnny initially wanted to have their wedding in a remote location; either a destination in a national park out west or even in the Shenandoah, closer to home. The two love being connected to nature and thought it would be beautiful to have their ceremony outdoors in one of their favorite places. However, they realized that if they did that, some key family members and friends would not be able to attend; that was more important to them than anything else. So, instead of having a destination or nature-filled experience, they decided to express their vision in other ways … like finding a vintage VW Van as their golden chariot! In the end, they decided to host their wedding at St. Francis Hall in Washington DC.
Their vision for the day was to keep the spirit of the outdoors and the national parks with them, while not having to venture so far from home. They used their travels across the world as the theme for their DC wedding. They called it Love is the Greatest Adventure, which they incorporated in unique and very personal ways throughout their DIY wedding decor.
