Today’s District inspired DAR wedding is full of so many unique and stunning design details. We couldn’t take out eyes off of them! The wedding venue, Daughters of the American Revolution, inspired the wedding style as it is as classic and timeless as you can get in DC.
A custom venue drawing was included in the stationery, in addition to other DC monuments and cherry blossoms. Megan wanted a neutral palette that didn’t include a bright gold or any pinks. They went with matte champagne hues as well as silvers and a dusty lavender to pair with the whites, creams and ivories.
Guests entered the venue through the impressive doorway on 17th Street; for this entrance, they bride and groom wanted a big statement decor piece to make a killer first impression. They settled on a custom table with a Lucite frame that offered a welcome message and beverage when guests arrived. This stunning piece was flipped to feature the seating chart after the ceremony ended. The path to the ceremony location required guests to walk through the reception space, so they used a custom hard wall adorned with family photos to hide the dinner tables. This hard wall was later moved to be the back-bar on the terrace after dinner. We love this idea. Re-purposing unique design aspects is one of our favorite things to see! Thank you to Bellwether Events for sharing this classic DC wedding with us today!
