Today’s engagement session is so DC! These two stopped at all of the iconic locations. From City Center to the Tidal Basin Basin and back again, they covered some serious ground in this great city. We also love that each specific stop is important to the couple. We’ve included some of their stories below so keep reading. Thank you to DuHon Photography for sharing this adorable quintessential DC engagement session with us!
Kate and I love street art and have been fans of the Pow Wow art expo that’s come through DC the previous two summers. MBT is one of the best places to catch a large share of the temporary murals all in one-spot. The murals are often replaced by newer, grander ones each year so we always love the adventure of discovering new art in a familiar place.
Kate and I celebrated her 34th birthday with a surprise dinner at Casa Luca in City Center on 4/12/17. After dinner that night, we walked around City Center, taking pictures and selfies as couples do. Seeing Kate under the city lights that night, I knew this is where I would be where I wanted to propose to Kate. Fast-forward to 11/30/17 with another surprise dinner at Casa Luca…I asked Kate to go on a walk to look at the Christmas tree after dinner. I asked to take Kate’s picture like I had the night of her birthday…but instead of dropping down to a knee to take a picture, I surprised her with a ring and asked her to be my wife,
Heist is where we went to celebrate our engagement. After proposing, I asked Kate to go to Heist for one celebratory drink before we could go home and spread the news. Little did Kate know that I had planned for 30 of our closest friends and family to already be waiting for us at the club—they all yelled SURPRISE when she came down the stairs—I’ll never forget the look of shock, surprise and overwhelming love on her face that night.
