Un Mariage en Provence: French wedding inspiration is a take on a traditional French wedding brought to the States. Traditional French weddings and the beauty of intimate gatherings in the countryside inspired today’s team. The effortless feel of the bride, the classy elegance in the decor, and the integration of family heirlooms were all elements Jade & Joy Events felt were important to bring into their styled wedding inspiration. Everything solidified in their minds once strolling across the grounds of Antrim 1844. The unabashed natural elements of the estate completely won them (and us!) over.
Following the traditional wedding ceremony in the Mayor’s office, the bride steals away for a quiet moment with her husband before switching gowns and having an intimate gathering with close family and friends. The main theme of the florals was lavender. As common as a bush along a path, lavender is prevalent throughout this wedding inspiration. It is used as a garnish on plates, the perfect addition to centerpieces, the right touch to an evening’s cocktail. Therefore, it was important they highlight it’s elegance and simplicity.
Authentic by Frani created something truly personal and intimate for this shoot. She created each of the fabric and wedding stationery elements herself; they were patterned based upon the lavender theme and the desired effortless feel. The hand-drawn elements completed the lavender invitation suite perfectly. Frani also decided to use fabric for the sweetheart chairs and the welcome sign, instead of the traditional wooden or glass signs. This was to further illustrate the overarching feel of intimacy. No traditional French wedding is complete without the inclusion of a croquembouche. Pâtisserie Poupon was the perfect boulangerie to complete this task, as the head baker is French himself. The additional sugar flowers added the perfect touch to really make it feel like a unique elegant affair.
