No one really knows when exactly Katy and Matt first met, but somewhere in idyllic Charlottesville in the mid-2000s their love story began. Although an intertwined group of friends forced the two to get to know each other, college graduation took them on different paths and put their story on hold; grad school and then ultimately NYC for Katy and Scotland via Northern VA for Matt. Fast forward 5 years, a night out at in DC with friends turned in to a fateful night of re-connection. Within months their drawn out love story sped up. Katy moved to DC and just over a year later a proposal among the trees at Belle Grove Plantation followed.
Katy and Matt wed at the perfectly charming Holy Rosary on a spectacular summer day. The traditional Catholic ceremony was followed by a reception at the iconic Hay-Adams Hotel. The bride’s sweet personality was reflected in simple yet elegant flowers from Sidra Forman. Centerpieces of mostly cream blooms and fresh greenery with just a hint of peach perfectly complimented the DC wedding venue‘s bright and airy feel while of course highlighting the amazing view. Though we all know the bride’s sleek and super flattering dress was the true star of the show! Thank you to A. Dominick Events for sharing this Top of the Hay wedding with us today!
