Meghan and Robert’s wedding day has so many stories. It all starts with the crazy story of how they met, or didn’t meet, for years even though their paths probably crossed many times. Meghan grew up in Maryland and Robert’s grandparents lived right across the street. Robert grew up in California, but would spend summers at his grandparents. Meghan’s family attended St. Alban’s Church, and so did Robert’s grandparents, so there’s a good possibility they were at church at the same time, but again, they never met. To make it even more interesting, years later they both attended Bucknell University and lived 4 floors apart in the same dorm, but they still didn’t meet. After two years at Bucknell, Robert headed back to California finish up his degree. Post college, he worked at a winery in Paso Robles. A few years after college, Meghan also ended up in Paso Robles working at another winery. One evening her roommate asked her if she wanted to go out for drinks. The two were going to meet up with her roommate’s boss. Guess who that was? Robert, of course! Finally, they eventually met, fell in love, and led us to the beautiful Congressional Country Club wedding.
When Meghan was planning her wedding day, she really wanted to bring California to Maryland, and thought through every little detail of her wedding. There are so many pieces of their wedding day that are customized and special to the two of them, their families, and their time together. The hanging moss you see is from a tree in Meghan and Robert’s backyard; she brought it with her when they flew out for the wedding! The ring she’s wearing is her grandmother’s ring, passed down from generation to generation, always going to the oldest daughter. The photo on the save the date card is their backyard. The driftwood on the reception tables is wood they got from Yosemite on her bachelorette weekend and some of the wine they served was actually made by Meghan. The personalized touches at this wedding just go on and on! Thank you to Susie and Becky Photography for sharing this Maryland country club wedding with us today!
