Ever considered eloping instead of planning a full wedding? We think it is a fantastic alternative to the traditional DC wedding. Today’s emerald elopement inspiration will have you wanting to hop on a plane headed for “The Emerald Isle.” Pulling from Ireland’s enchanting combination of lusciously green rolling hills, scenic coastlines, fairytale castles, and a rich history dating back thousands of years, this intimate elopement is a modern fairytale. It depicts two souls coming together as one. With Strong Mansion at Sugerloaf Mountain providing the perfect castle-like venue backdrop, the team combined ancient Celtic traditions such as a hand-fasting ceremony. This unique tradition represents unity between the couple and the binding of each soul to the other. The silk ribbon utilized symbolizes their unity in marriage.
For the celtic wedding inspiration, the bride wore a sheer emerald-green maxi dress that we are swooning over. Who says you have to wear white on your wedding day? Not us! To accompany her irresistible dress, she was given a luxurious floral bouquet from Ory Florals. The bouquet featured a large gold succulent, polo roses, ruscus, and silver dollar seeded eucalyptus. Finally, finishing off her look, her hair held white wax flowers and a small braid; an Irish symbol of feminine power and luck. In addition, to tie everything together, a deep green invitation suite with sparkling gold color palette, gold vellum envelope, emerald embellishment and custom laser cut belly band was custom developed by JSD Invitations & Calligraphy.
