Both graduates of Villanova University, Amy and Andrew decided to get involved with the Alumni Chapter based in DC. The chapter was a great place to make friends once Amy moved to the area. Can you guess where this is going? One of those friends was Andrew! The pair played on the alumni softball team together, as well as met to watch Villanova basketball games. It was many months until just the two of them met for drinks after work one evening, but the rest is history. The culmination of which is today’s beautiful jewel toned Decatur House wedding!
The couple wanted their wedding to be somewhat local. Most of Amy’s family and friends would be traveling from elsewhere; DC provided a great place for them to visit or make into a long weekend! Andrew wanted a traditional location, and Amy was tired of the popular barn or winery locations, so they found the perfect spot in this historical DC wedding venue; it’s downtown, yet tucked away. They loved how it brought its own history to their day. Amy loves bold colors, so she wanted the flowers to be bright, but still fit in the late fall/early winter color palette. She originally wanted a jewel toned wedding; in the end they narrowed that down to deep purple, “peacock” teal & metallic gold. We love this unique color story juxtaposed against the traditional wedding venue.
