Elopements are oftentimes some of the most intimate DC weddings we feature. And that’s not just because they are typically smaller in the number of attendees. There’s no audience, just the couple and their love for one another. Brandi and Andrew and their intimate DC War Memorial elopement is no different. This stunning couple said, “I do” at one of the most beautiful memorials in Washington, D.C. As they held one another, Andrew wiped away Brandi’s tears of joy and at that moment they became husband and wife. We love how the pair shared champagne and a red velvet cake together at the iconic dc memorial after their nuptials. How sweet is that?! Thank you to their photographer, Andrea Rodway Photography, for sharing their special DC elopement with us today!
Brandi and Andrew’s love story began with swiping right, matching on the infamous Tinder app, and then instantly moving away from each other. Andrew was in the middle of his training to become a Naval Aviator, and was moving in a few weeks to Mississippi; meanwhile, Brandi was finishing her business degree at UWF. They spent the next few weeks texting each other before they met. They found they had the same sense of humor, seemed to like the same things, and simply couldn’t get enough of talking to each other. After multiple attempts of Andrew asking, Brandi finally agreed to meet in person. It ended up being a total bust! According to Brandi, they both spent the night standing around each other, speaking few words, and being completely awkward. OH, and they two were both in costume, as it happened to be Halloween! Despite their unexciting first meeting, they decided to give it another shot. Racing against the Navy’s clock, the pair went to a quaint little sushi bar where they shared a few laughs, and the sparks began to ignite! They ended the night with Andrew asking, “May I have a kiss?” Over the next few days they were inseparable; football nights, brunch, church, dinner dates, etc. Two individuals seemed to be brought together by fate, and after those few days together the rest became history.
