We are heading back to Carnegie Institution for Science for another amazing fall DC wedding today! We love this venue so much and want to showcase two amazing weddings from our one of our favorite DC wedding venues! Ken and Laura were married last fall in an intimate wedding with their ceremony at the iconic Cathedral of St. Matthews the Apostle downtown. The architecture and detailing of their church was a backdrop to their religious mass that was breath taking. Weaving a color story of navy, gold, with pops of burnt orange, they made the fall color story look glamorous and exciting!
When asked what the most important parts of planning a wedding were, having a great party atmosphere with delicious food was at the top of the list. Working with their caterer, Spilled Milk Catering they created drink and app pairings that were quite a hit! They wanted to make sure that their guests felt welcomed and comfortable throughout the night. We also loved how the party animal escort cards were a twist on the seating assignments. It really add a light and fun element to the decor design! For their seating, a kings table anchored the center of the room. As a personalized note, each seat had a deep blue base plate created by Roberts & Co Events and Just Write Studios as a take away! They wrapped the evening with dancing and a roaming bar cart with whiskey, scotch, and cigars. They even had home made spirits that the groom distilled himself! Thank you to Kurstin Roe Photography for sharing this beautiful fall DC wedding with us today!
