When planning all of your DC wedding weekend activities think outside the box. You want to choose something that guests can really have fun with. Instead of a cocktail reception at the hotel when guests arrive, consider an afternoon ice cream and cocktail social to start the weekend! Who wouldn’t love to kick things off with something sweet? Two amazing DC wedding planners, Cheers Darling and Sara Muchnick Events partnered together to create this concept. They revealed it for some local wedding pros and we just love how this idea is so transformable. From bachelorette parties and bridal showers to pre and post wedding parties, this fun summer treat easily brings your favorite guests together.
On the lawns of DC Navy Yard, Ice Cream Jubilee set up an adorable ice cream stand and served fresh scoops alongside refreshing. fizzy summer cocktails. Having mini stations for ice cream, drinks, or games gives guests the ability to free flow throughout the space and mingle more readily. One element that makes this such a cool idea is the incorporation of a big ball pit and fun lounge area. This gives guests a place to congregate and break the ice; and don’t count out the killer photo op! Lastly, as a takeaway, guests were given personalized ice cream scoops and treats as favors. These favors are simple, personal and tie back into the overall event concept. By choosing such a unique wedding favor, your guests are sure to remember your event as an awesome one!
