Jonelle and Andrew met while working, but remained friends for a long time before their romantic relationship officially began; neither one was too keen on dating a coworker! As fate would have it, after they started dating, work relocated them both to the Middle East island country of Bahrain. The two had already shared a love of travel, but this new phase of their lives allowed the couple to easily explore new regions of the world together. Even though all the wedding planning would take place half way around the world, Jonelle and Andrew chose an Army Navy Country Club wedding back in the states. They decided on a DC wedding because that is where Andrew grew up.
In planning their nuptials, a travel theme wedding was naturally a perfect fit for their globe trotting romance. Upon entering the wedding reception, guests could sign in at a table adorned with old suitcases, globes, and photos from around the world. Dinner tables were assigned with travel destinations in lieu of numbers; guests were treated to personal stories from Jonelle and Andrews travels to each location. Their favorite table was the Paris table which told the couple’s engagement story! Andrew proposed to Jonelle in 2015 in the “City of Love.” In typical Andrew fashion, he waited for the perfect moment – in an elevator full of people exiting the Eiffel Tower.
