We are kicking off the week with a colorful southern inspired Virginia Farm wedding by Don Mears Photography. Inspired by Southern fare and hospitality, as well as the bride’s family farm, Annie and Drew celebrated in joyful fun with 250 of their loved ones no matter how many rain sprinkles came down prior to the big day. With plates of collard greens and fried catfish, hay bale sofas, cozy blankets for chilly temperatures, and concert banjo player, the tone was set for an elegant down-home country wedding with all the right fixin’s. Annie and Drew thought everything was perfectly “them” at the end of the day!
“Keep it simple, fun, and elegant. Even though our plan was to have a fuss-free wedding, we had many details that were carried out ahead of time to make it a great day,” the bride advised. In an old southern tradition, the couple buried a bourbon bottle to ward off rain on their wedding day. Tradition dictates you dig it up on the wedding day, and from the looks of the photos they were able to pull off a rain free day! We absolutely adore their use of fun colors that lent to the overall atmosphere and really fit into the idea of a homespun Virginia farm wedding. I mean, how much do you love the patterned bridesmaid dresses? Congratulations to the newlyweds and thank you to Don Mears Photography for sharing their love filled wedding day with us!
