When Amanda and Josh began planning their July DC wedding reception, instead of fearing the warm sweltering temperature chance, they embraced it instead. The bride described her vision as a sort of dripping hot, southern Gothic inspired affair. They matched the ornate opulence of the landmark Anderson House with tropical foliage and sleek lines to create a truly unique wedding design. When the couple hired their floral team at Petals Edge Floral Design they proclaimed that they wanted to merge the party scenes from the movie Sabrina with those in The Shining, which I think they achieved with flair! Our favorite part of today’s unique wedding is that they really utilized a wedding design that did not have traditional flowers but instead tropical greens. This daring yet bold look really can transform a wedding into a theme without being too overpowering or harsh. Lastly, when choosing photos for publication we love seeing life and laughter more than any details! You can feel Amanda’s laughter in the genuine moments of life through Ash Imagery‘s photos! Congratulations to the newlyweds and thank you to Petals Edge Floral Design for sharing this moody yet lively wedding with us today!
