Cheery & Bright Modern Wedding Reception in Rockville: Natalie + Xavier
November 16, 2015 Tabitha

Welcome back to part two of today’s modern wedding in Maryland! Natalie and Xavier happily wed in a beautifully colorful wedding at VisArts at Rockville. To see their fabulous wedding ceremony in Rockville, don’t miss a photo here! Once the knot was tied, the couple continued to celebrate on the same property and moved into a car-filled and colorful wedding reception. Wedding Guests found their seats with escort cards complete with mini cars and the guest book was even a familiar car part; can you spot it?! No wedding-day detail was left undone at at their wedding and they made fabulous use of the modern feel of their venue, even the striped coral and blue wedding cake came complete with a car by its side. Thanks to the help of their wedding planner Rose Gold Events & Styling who planned the big day, Natalie and Xavier ensured that all those little touches included their favorite things – like mini Georgetown Cupcakes! A big thanks to wedding photographer, Erica Dietz Photography, for sharing Natalie and Xavier’s Maryland wedding with us!

From the bride: My advice to all brides planning a wedding in the DC area is to hire a wedding planner! My wedding planner really made our wedding a huge success. I spent all day getting ready and when I walked into my wedding venue, everything was arranged exactly how I had envisioned it and had described it; it was like a dream come true! I was also incredibly detail oriented in my wedding planning. I kept a well-organized wedding planning binder and multiple to do lists! I made vision boards by subject based on ideas I found on Pinterest. The florist was able to make photocopies of the pictures I brought to my floral design appointment for my files and my wedding day flowers came out exactly how we discussed.

Planning a wedding in the DC area was extremely stressful! Of course, the one thing I could not control was the weather. The wedding did not cooperate on the day of our wedding, but we made the best of it and still had the most amazing day. We really made our wedding day uniquely ours! No one else will have a wedding quite like our’s and I could not be prouder of what we achieved!

Advice from the bride for other Washington DC area couples:

Paying for a wedding in the Washington DC area is very expensive. I would recommend spreading out some of your wedding purchases over time. At the end, suddenly there are numerous final wedding payments due all at once!

It can also be hard to juggle opinions of family members and friends. Try not to stress about making others happy and just focus on what you and your soon-to-be-spouse want for your wedding day!

Also, try not to get too hooked on what you find on Pinterest early on in your wedding planning process. Some of those wedding decor ideas on Pinterest are just not realistic.

Lastly, time will just fly by and before you know it, the day is here! Make sure you enjoy the wedding day itself!!
