Welcome back to part two of today’s bright and cheerful wedding in Virginia! Sarah and David said “I do” at their garden inspired wedding ceremony at Airlie Center in Warrenton, Virginia. In case you missed a moment of their ceremony, be sure to check it out here. Once the knot was tied, their weddings guests stayed on the property to celebrate their union without ever leaving the wedding venue (something important to the bride and groom!). Their navy blue and bright yellow wedding color palette was picture-perfect and their personal details were also plentiful at this party! My favorite wedding detail was definitely the custom drink koozies from Etsy as one of two wedding favors for their wedding guests! Custom monogramed cookies were also gifted at each place setting, which was surrounded elegant hydrangea and rose centerpieces. Every area of their wedding was an opportunity for this couple to show their personalities, right down to the multi-colored bridal bouquet for Sarah – daring and darling at the same time! A big thanks to Washington DC area wedding photographer, Lelia Marie Photography, for sharing Sarah and David’s beautiful Virginia wedding reception with us!
From the bride: It really was a party, as soon as the music started we had everyone up out of the seats and dancing the entire night of our wedding. We actually had to push out some of the tables from the dance floor, because more people were dancing than we originally thought would.
Our wedding planner, Johanna, was amazing! She really made the entire wedding planning process very easy and made the wedding day go as smoothly as possibly, so my mom and I didn’t have to worry about anything except for enjoying our wedding.
Advice from the bride for other Washington DC area couples:
Choose to be happy and go with the flow on your wedding day. At the end of the day you will be marrying the love of your life and that should be the main priority of the wedding day.
On our wedding day we had so many things go awry. We had a huge storm coming the night of our wedding, so we decided to move the wedding ceremony inside last-minute instead of having it in the beautiful gardens like we had planned. The ceremony arch that we rented to spruce up the room if we had to go to our “plan B” rain plan never arrived. Our ceremony officiant pronounced our last name incorrectly when announcing us for the first time! There was a huge flood that temporarily knocked out the power and delayed our reception dinner and kept our wedding guests from reaching the restrooms for 30 minutes!
Despite all of these things, I laughed and smiled and enjoyed our wedding day! No wedding will ever be perfect, but it will be a day to remember regardless. You don’t want to remember your wedding crying over things that don’t matter!
Congratulations to Sarah and David! Thank you for sharing your colorful Virginia wedding reception with us!
