Welcome back to another installment in our DIY dessert recipe series! Today, we’re sharing some fall-inspired DIY treats with a seasonal favorite”pumpkin spice! Granola is a perfect favor idea for a fall, rustic or nature inspired wedding in the Washington DC area. Pack these little treats into favor bags for your wedding or your out-of-town guest bags! Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups old fashioned oats
- ½ cup sliced almonds
- ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- ½ cup golden raisins
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons coconut oil (or vegetable oil)
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup pumpkin puree
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
To Make
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a large bowl mix together dry ingredients. If using coconut oil, melt it in the microwave.
In a small bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients over dry ingredients and toss to coat evenly.
Cover a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the granola mixture onto the baking sheet to make a thin layer.
Bake for 30-40 minutes. Toss with a spoon every 10 minutes to avoid burning. Remove from oven and cool completely. Store in airtight container until ready to package in favor bags.
