Simple and Personal Wedding Reception at Arena Stage: Elizabeth + Graham
March 10, 2014 admin

Simple, joyous, personal these are all words that come to mind when sifting through the gorgeous images from Venessa of Studio Juno for Elizabeth and Graham’s Washington DC wedding. (You’ll have to check out their sweet and simple wedding ceremony!) The soft, muted color palette played up the gorgeous indoor spaces of Arena Stage which were embellished with personal and DIY details like the DC skyline table numbers and simple floral decor. But my favorite DIY effort would have to be the wedding escort cards decorated by Graham’s nieces and nephews. How sweet!?

From Elizabeth: One of everyone’s favorite touches was the place cards. Graham’s eight neices and nephews decorated each one individually so they were all unique, personal, and had a family feel. It also gave us a way to include more of our family in our wedding day, which was a big priority for us. And it was cheap! We just printed them out using templates on perforated card stock, and shipped them off to the nieces and nephews to do!

Elizabeth’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples: One of the best things we did was to sit down together at the begining of the planning process and make a list of what was really important to us. That helped us remember later on when we had disagreements with our parents or each other what was worth fighting about and what wasn’t. It also guaranteed that the essence of what we wanted – a weekend that felt like a true expression of us – came through.
