I wholeheartedly believe every Monday morning calls for a cup of java and a heavy dose of wedding inspiration. Cindy and Tim’s Washington DC wedding is chock-full of amazing DIY details planned by the beautiful bride with the help of her handsome groom and their loved ones. Before their downtown DC wedding ceremony, they opted for a first look at one of DC’s gems”the Spanish Steps tucked away in Kalorama. Just wait ˜til you see Tim’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time captured by 5 Rings Photography.
From Cindy: We wanted our wedding to be classic but comfortable, and fun! I used to work at a stationary store and had seen a lot of cookie cutter weddings so I wanted the wedding to feel like ours. We carefully curated all the music and the order of the ceremony to reflect our style. However I was kind of adamant that while I was wearing a big white dress, I didn’t want the day to be just Cindy and Tim centric. We have such tremendous family and friends that we are so grateful for, and we wanted to throw them an excellent party in thanks for their support of this next phase of our lives.
My husband is works a lot with Adobe Illustrator so he designed our save the dates and invitations, and we had them printed via Overnight Prints. The programs, menus, and seating cards were also designed by us and printed at home. We had a custom rubber stamp made with our wedding date that we used across all the paper elements, and that now serves as a cool ornament for our Christmas tree.
We love living in DC so we chose to do our first look photos at the Spanish Steps by Kalorama and then wander back through Dupont Circle to the Carnegie. It was a lot of fun; I hailed a cab in my wedding dress and we got so many well wishes from random people on the street as we walked back.
