Classic Summer Wedding Reception in Washington DC: Megan + Craig

The celebration continues as we return with more from Megan and Craig’s purple Washington DC wedding reception! (Did you see their sweet and intimate outdoor wedding ceremony – it’s a must-see!) One of my favorite things about Megan and Craig’s wedding is its simplicity how gorgeous a wedding can be when focusing on elegant details, especially when you have a beautiful venue like Meridian House that doesn’t require much in the decor department! Marcella Treybig Photography was on hand to capture all the pretty details and was lovely enough to let us share them with you!

From Megan: The key for us was venue, food, and drink. We knew we had great people in attendance so as long as they were well-fed and had plenty to drink, it would be a good time. The rest, at least to us, was secondary. In retrospect, though, the DJ/music ended up having a huge impact. Our DJ was great, and so we were really happy with how it went, but he or she can make or break the flow.

I loved the favors, which was a bottle of our favorite beer. We still are getting texts or emails of people opening it at home and enjoying it. I love that people are still enjoying the wedding, even several months after.

Megan’s wedding planning advice to other DC-area couples: We went with the approach of accomplishing one task a month, which helped to keep the planning from getting overwhelming. No matter what, though, it is going to be a blast, so try to keep that in mind when you are buried in the minutia of wedding planning!
