Happy new year! We’re back with one more round up of the best in Washington DC weddings! Earlier this week, we covered the best classic DC weddings, but don’t think that DC is only for traditional couples – there were so many fun and modern celebrations on the blog this past year. Next up is a round up of our favorite non-traditional real weddings that we featured in 2013.
Amy and Stephen transport their guests to the 1800²s with a vintage riverboat inspired wedding on the Eastern Shore, complete with period decor, antique bottles and classic books all overlooking the Cabin Creek. Daniel Bostwick Photography captured every detail that was thoughtful and special, especially the hand painted paper goods from Momental Designs!

Things got pretty wild this summer on the blog with Lauren and Brennan’s safari inspired wedding at The Maryland Zoo. Bet you’ve never seen a penguin make an appearance at a wedding! tPoz Photography was on hand to capture all the wild details including paper goods – designed by the bride! – and an animal cracker favor bar, just to name a few!

High school sweethearts Ashley and Frankie found inspiration for their Maryland wedding, from Kirsten Marie Photography, where it all started: high school. Bright, modern and oh-so-fun, some of our favorite details included a paper airplane ceremony backdrop, a collection of chalkboard table numbers and signs and a locker-inspired guestbook!
