I admit that I was fired up when Lyn and Randi at Happy Girls Events shared a wedding elopement shoot at Fletcher’s Cove with me. I was going back through the history of the blog and I don’t know that I’ve featured anything from this great little boat house right on the Potomac River in Georgetown. It is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony like this or a wedding engagement session. This wedding elopement is full of ideas should you decided for a very, very intimate wedding ceremony. Going for a bohemian vibe, they were try to keep it festive even though there were only three people. The couple had a ceremony on the rocks and then settled in for a little meal and a toast. They even had time for a canoe ride! Dfinney Photography was there to capture it all.
From Lyn and Randi: As D.C.’s art market explodes onto the scene, we’ve noticed that many local brides and grooms are head over heels for intimate weddings in untraditional settings. This shoot features an eclectic mix of bohemian, Moroccan, and Spanish influences. For free-spirited couples, the location (Fletcher’s Cove) is perfect because it feels like a far-away destination, while it’s right in our backyard. (Our models, Alex and Lilia Hedon, are a real couple married this past June.)
From Lyn and Randi: Nestled under a vintage crocheted canopy, the “table” (at their reception bungalow) is fashioned from an antique Moroccan tray and painted oak base. Crisp white napkins and a romantic lace runner soften the bright punches of electric blue and golden yellow in the surrounding decor. Eclectic trinkets and details collected on our Happy Girls’ travels and in vintage stores tie everything together seamlessly.
