I have a dose of something pretty for you today! Jessie and Will were married in a church wedding ceremony in DC on Capitol Hill. Then they all headed to Virginia for their reception. But, you’ll have to come back later this morning to see that! With soft pinks and white, they were going for a romantic vibe – think Father of the Bride – and they sure achieved it with k. thompson photography there to capture it all and Events in the City there to make sure it all went off perfectly!
From Jessie: Overall, we wanted a wedding that felt very romantic – lots of candles and flowers. I had always envisioned that my wedding would be like the movie “Father of the Bride” with candle light and soft colors, so that’s what we aimed for. We also wanted to make it lively, which is why we decided to do stations instead of a sit-down dinner. We wanted to make it an awesome party for everyone involved, and I think we definitely succeeded there!
From Jessie: My mom cut a piece from her wedding dress to make a heart with our initials sewn on it in blue. Inside the heart, she placed my great grandmother’s lucky $2 bill and I also carried my (dad’s mother) grandmother’s rosary beads. We were married in the same church as my great grandparents.
