Jacqueline and Matt had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Washington DC that was full of love! With Ethan Yang there to capture every single moment, I couldn’t stop picking pictures for this feature. From the bride’s stunning dress to her bouquet with little pop of purple to the gorgeous images from inside of one of the most beautiful churches in the city, it was all so fantastic. And, just wait until you see their reception! You’ll have to come back later this morning to see it though.
From Jacqueline: We didn’t plan our wedding to a “theme” per se, but “Love Never Ends” became the focus as we wanted to emphasize not only how lucky we are to have found each other, but also to be surrounded by beautiful love all throughout our lives. The overall feel was casually contemporary, with special attention to ensuring everyone had a great time.
From Jacqueline: I splurged with my time on finding the perfect dress. I was lucky to have amazing support from my fiance, Matt, my parents, friends and future in-laws throughout the wedding planning process. For example, my mom flew up to NYC on 5 separate occasions for wedding dress shopping as I tried on 92 different dresses at 17 different salons, before I found THE ONE! Don’t settle ladies! Once we found the dress, accessories came easy with an antique bracelet as my “something old” and my mom and I handmade my sash.
From Jacqueline: Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church holds special family memories as the church my grandmother attended growing up as well as where my father served as ring bearer for the wedding of my great aunt and uncle. We were grateful to be able to light the same Unity Candle that was used during my parent’s ceremony three decades previous. Our minister requested that we write our own vows. Honestly, this wasn’t in our original plan, but I am incredibly grateful for the extra nudge. It was our chance to openly share our feelings towards one another and the journey that we were about to take together.
From Jacqueline: One piece of advice I got on the big day may sound silly and simple, but, it was to walk down the aisle slowly enough so that you can look all your guests in the eye. Now, I know I didn’t catch everyone’s eyes, but I did try, and I became overwhelmed with gratitude for all the love and support our friends and family provided for Matt and I on this new journey.
