Favorite Barn Wedding Venues in the DC Area
July 16, 2013 admin

If you are going for the rustic vibe for your wedding complete with a barn, the read on, my friends! Today’s post is all about the wedding locations in the Washington DC area with a barn. Ever since we featured Emily and Dave’s wedding in Annapolis at her family’s farm, I’ve been receiving comments and emails galore asking where this barn is and how can they rent it for their wedding! As you can see, it is family farm and the venue isn’t available to rent. But, you are in luck because there are loads of other wedding venues with a barn in the Washington DC area – everything from working farms to vineyards to barns with A/C! For this next post in our DC area wedding venue search series, we talked to a few of our favorite wedding planners and this what they had to say about their favorite wedding locations in the DC area with a barn…

“My new favorite barn venue is Rockland’s Farm in Poolesville, Maryland. It is a working farm so it is genuinely rustic and rural. It has many different areas on property that can be utilized — a vineyard, a rolling hill, an area for a tent, and the barn itself. It’s perfect for the couple who wants a very earthy, natural feel to their wedding.”  from Teresa at Rex & Regina Events

“Shepherd Hey Farm in Comus, MD. We are the only wedding planners that have access to the property and I love the owners as we planned their daughter’s wedding there!” – – from Katie, owner of Elegance & Simplicity

“My favorite hidden gem is Jefferson Patterson Park in Saint Leonard, MD. It not only has a gorgeous barn, but it has waterfront space for a ceremony! There’s also a gorgeous new barn venue in Thurmont, MD called the The Mathwig Estate Event Barn — it’s SO cute — and right next to a moonlight corn maze!” – from  Rebecca at Blue Canary Events

“Pippin Hill in North Garden, Virginia. It has amazing views and fabulous in-house linens, chairs and more. It is really a one-stop-shop!” – from Cindy at A. Dominick Events

“There are some great barns in the Leesburg, Virginia area; Murray Hill and Riverside on the Potomac immediately come to mind. But I also love the Barns at Wolf Trap. It is an affordable venue with free parking, a central location, and it is completely climate controlled!” –  from Janice, owner of Bellwether Events

“Murray Hill in Leesburg,VA is fantastic for the Virginia country feel, but it actually works for events. The owners are probably the nicest people I’ve ever met and the barn is a blank canvas. Plus, the estate house on the Potomac is just as special.” from Laura, at Events in the City

“Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, Virginia. This is an incredible venue with a ceremony lawn surrounded by thousands of daffodils that overlooks the Potomac River. There is a tentable patio with heated floors beside a beautiful waterfall feature. The most incredible part of this venue is the newly-renovated barn that can hold up to 300 people. The barn and stable gallery both have custom tin chandeliers, burlap curtains and antique rustic furniture.” – Courtney at Dogwood Events

“Castle Hill Cider Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA. It is just breathtaking! It has a uge open concept with amazing views for photos- a planner’s dream!”  – from Amanda at Engaging Affairs

“Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, VA. Their blackberry dessert wine is as lovely as their mountain top views.” – from Courtney at A Sweet Soiree

“The Stables at Bluemont Vineyard has a great barn for weddings. The barn is rustic, with a lawn behind it offering a stunning view of the vineyards and valley below. However, the barn also offers the amenities (restrooms and a kitchen) that you want for a wedding, providing the best of both worlds.” – from Sara, owner of Bella Notte
