Welcome back for our post-Memorial day wedding celebration! (Did you see Marie and Scott’s bayside wedding ceremony?) For their reception, Marie and Scott moved into a simple but classic tent, offering sugar cookies turned place cards and opting for the Cupid Shuffle instead of the classic parent dances! Their bayside-inspired palette continued with pops of bright green and a cake decorated with sea shells, all captured beautifully by Megan Beth Photography.
From Marie: I hate to see favors left on tables or thrown away, so we made ours edible. My husband loves cookies, so it seemed like a natural choice. We decided to use sugar cookies iced to resemble sand dollars. Several people asked me which bakery made them and I loved saying we made them with my great aunt’s recipe. Their packaging also doubled as place cards and meal selection.
We skipped a lot of things – a videographer, programs, performers for the ceremony. We also decided against dedicated dances because our parents weren’t too keen on the spotlight – instead of a father/daughter dance I taught my dad how to do the Cupid Shuffle. One of the best moments was having him and my mom together on the dance floor next to me.
