We’re kicking this week off with a dramatic multi-faith Washington DC wedding from Leo Druker. Are you ready!? Jane and Brian’s wedding celebration began on a Thursday with a traditional hindu ceremony, and all the beautiful colors and luxurious fabrics and textures that go along with it. Then they wed in a Jewish ceremony that resembled the exact opposite, a clean white space with soaring glass windows and simplistic decor. I love when weddings have great contrast throughout, keep guests guessing, and this one certainly fits the bill!
From Jane: At the start of the ceremony, Brian’s brother and sister held up a chuppah style entrance for us to walk through. The red fabric is the sari I wore for our Hindu wedding ceremony, which took place a few days before the Arena Stage reception.
We did not have a specific theme or color palette. Our inspiration was the venue itself. The Arena Stage is stunning in its architecture and mix of materials. When other vendors asked us to describe what we had in mind for the wedding, we showed pictures of the Arena – modern, walls of glass, theater buildings enclosed by a new space.
