Vow Exchange and Chinese Tea Ceremony in Arlington Virginia: Debbie + Art
March 11, 2013 admin

Debbie and Art had not one, not two, but three wedding ceremonies! On their Virginia wedding day, captured by Love Life Images, they celebrated eachother’s cultures and their shared American traditions, with a fittingly overarching theme of red. First up we’re sharing their western vow exchange and their Chinese tea ceremony, but you’ll want to come back to see the rest later this morning! This was one day packed with tradition, love and lots of vibrant details!

Virginia Wedding Ceremony

From Debbie: Our wedding incorporated Art’s family’s Thai traditions, Debbie’s family’s Chinese traditions and our shared American traditions. Red is a lucky color in Chinese culture so that was our color for the wedding.

My favorite memory is taking pictures in and around Georgetown University, Art’s alma mater. Because we were surrounded by people all day and it was the only time we got to enjoy each other and savor the moment.

We had three different ceremonies, a Thai water blessing, a Chinese tea ceremony and a typical Western exchange of vows.
