We’re still letting Valentine’s Day linger a bit around here (Hey, we love love!) with a Washington DC wedding bursting with pops of hot pink! Natalie and Trace’s big day, captured by Lauryn Galloway Photography was elegant and modern, but filled with humor and fun too! Case in point: their flash mob first dance! They also made customized sunglasses, with their wedding date, for the day. Hello!? How fun is that!? Check out this awesome day, you won’t regret it.
From Natalie: I was going for a modern elegance, something trendy and fun, with a traditional grace.
My favorite memory is our “first look” pictures, it was so special to have time just Trace and me.
We wanted to be in the city. Although we grew up outside of DC we consider ourselves city people and wanted our wedding to have that city feeling. It was important for us to get married in our “home” city of DC.
Trace’s uncle was our minister and married us. He blended our Christian and Jewish traditions for an amazing ceremony. We also had my aunt, Trace’s grandmother and his sister each do a special reading as part of our ceremony, it was so special and personal.
I loved doing our flash mob as part of our first dance, it was so fun to do it with our wedding party and really got everyone in the party mode, it set the tone for the night.
Natalie’s advice to other DC-area couples:
We had to plan our wedding from Boston which was really hard. We didn’t have much time to meet with vendors, which I think is really important. It’s so important to work with good people so you can relax the day of, which I did! It was also great to have our venue so close to all types of public transportation since most of our guests were from out of town. I would advise not to get overwhelmed with the small stuff. Although it was fun to have lots of little projects sometimes it can get to be a lot or stressful, focusing on making the day memorable in big ways and enjoying the company of friends and family is what was the best part!
