Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! It’s time to pucker up, so I have a fun little wedding inspiration roundup of brides who went bright and bold for their lips on the big day! I hope you’ll be rocking one of these shades as you head out to your Valentine’s Day festivities and as you walk down the aisle! Also, we have an added bonus today. If you are going to go bold, check out these tips below from DC area wedding makeup artist Melissa, owner of Melissa Mangrum, Makeup Artist.

For bold, statement lips on your wedding day, Melissa recommends:
1. Avoid the gloss, this tends to make lips bleed and feather much faster, which can cause a mess.
2. Apply, Blot, Reapply…repeat. Applying the lipstick in layers helps for a longer lasting application. So, apply one layer, blot with a tissue, then reapply another layer of lipstick. You may repeat this a couple times.
3. Keep the rest of the face subtle, so that the focus can be on the statement lip. The eyes and the rest of the face should compliment, not compete with the bold color choice on your lips.
