Maryland Wedding Ceremony: Carly + Tim
February 11, 2013 admin

With Valentine’s Day coming up on Thursday, you’re going to be really feeling the love this week! Think red weddings, red lips, the works. We’re kicking things off with Carly and Tim’s perfectly red Maryland wedding from Roberts & Co. Events and Duhon Photography! Set outside at Stone Manor Country Club, they had a traditional Russian Orthodox wedding which made for a truly unique and absolutely gorgeous ceremony. Check it out!

From Carly: We wanted everyone to walk away from the wedding saying that our wedding was very “us”. We started with the save the date (meet us in the middle, I’m from VA he is from PA, we got married in MD…in MIDDLEtown no less!) and incorporated as many personal details as we could. My favorite color is red, but I didn’t want overboard so my color palette was white and black with pops of red. I wanted a wedding I could look back on and not be horrified at being too trendy, but wanted a few “in” touches.

My dad passed away when I was 15. I had the florist wrap my bouquet in one of his old ties so it was like he was walking me down the aisle.

I made a last minute change to my music for the ceremony. I was going to walk out to the traditional Canon in D, but right before changed it to In My Life by the Beatles as an ode to my Beatle-loving husband.

Tim is Russian Orthodox so we had a traditional Orthodox wedding (think everything three times!). It was a shock for my family and all or our friends, but it was extremely beautiful.

One of my favorite memories is being tripled dip kissed (hey it is the orthodox way) when we said I do.
