It didn’t take Becca and Kyle long to find the perfect place to say “I do.” They selected their venue, Raspberry Plain, just one week after they got engaged, to be exact! It became the perfect backdrop for these high school sweethearts to tie the knot in a late spring ceremony with subtle details, pops of purple and Stephen Gosling there to capture it all. Check back in a bit for part two of this regal Virginia wedding celebration!
From Becca: Kyle and I met each other while we were in high school. We pretty much grew up together during our seven years of dating. We have so many memories together that trying to pick a theme with one of those special memories seemed impossible. We wanted our wedding to be about our love. We wanted a romantic and exciting night that we could share with people that loved, supported, and helped shape our lives. That being said, Kyle gave me most of the creative direction to fulfill our vision!
I had seen a beautiful bouquet online months before we were engaged and I really set our decor off of that. I loved the combination of rich purples and pinks with light greens and ivory. I carried that photo with me to every meeting and pretty much set every detail off of the color scheme!
Kyle and I both grew up in religious families. Having a Christian ceremony was something that was very important to us. Kyle’s sister had just finished seminary at Duke Divinity School at Duke University, and was able to marry us! Having her officiate over our special day meant so much. We also had friends and family read bible verses that were special to us during the ceremony. We were honored to have their support and love during that time.
