Purple and Green Succulent Wedding Ideas
October 11, 2012 admin

Words cannot even begin to describe how gorgeous today’s collection of wedding ideas is! So far from Danielle at Magnolia Bluebird Design & Events we’ve seen Boho chic wedding ideas and pure romance wedding decor. Today: succulents! I’m starting to see more and more of succulents in weddings – and I’m not complaining. Succulents add a beautiful, natural look to your wedding theme and are stunning on their own, or when combined with flowers. Geoff Chesman Visuals bring us this ethereal inspiration with touches of lush purple and green succulent centerpiece ideas for eco-friendly weddings.

From Danielle: If you are beginning to sense a theme from the last several weeks of inspiration, you can tell that we love texture, various heights and tables that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, textures and textiles. We like to incorporate a variety of vessels, botanicals and the use of miscellaneous decor pieces to add personality and detail.

This table design surprised us the most as it all came together and we absolutely loved the use of all natural elements. This would be our take on a “green” tablescape. Stacked rock and slate, cement pots, potted greenery, beeswax candles, rock, artichokes and succulents in a variety of shades of green, purple and eggplant.  It’s natural without feeling contrived and obvious.

We chose a classic silver rimmed stemware pattern to give the edgy and geometric succulents and industrial cement vessels a subtle hint of sophistication. Even the menu spoke to the design, Occasions created a dish of Foie Gras Mousse, Truffle and Baby Asparagus to reflect the color palate and dimensional texture of the table as well.

The purple and copper chair finish paired with the marbleized “agate” pattern on the invitation and menu card carried through to the baseplate to infuse additional textural intrest. We absolutely loved the reflective quality of the mirrored table in such a natural and dimensional setting. It gives the table life as everything around it all becomes part of the table, almost a living table linen.
