Gloria and Joseph’s Virginia wedding was planned in just two months, but you wouldn’t know it thanks to Vicky of My Simple Details‘ fast work and thinking! The day was a vision of natural, organic elements like moss and manzanita branches, with a hint of glamour and a hue of royal blue sprinkled about. The couple’s main priority was to customize everything, from their meticulously selected music to the colors (both of their favorites!), to the incorporation of their family and traditions. I can’t wait for you to see their reception, where the decor really took my breath away. Head back here this afternoon to take a peek!
From Gloria: Our wedding was the start of the best days of our lives because I married the love of my life. Our wedding was simple, romantic, and a joyful gathering of family and friends incorporating our style and personality. To help start creating this simple, romantic, joyful gathering, we began with who we were: what’s his favorite color (blue), what’s my favorite color (green).
We had an Honoring Parents Ceremony (a Korean tradition) where we as a couple, in front of our guests during the ceremony program, give thanks to each parent with a hug and a bouquet of flowers. We had more music detail in our ceremony program than typical. We also added a sand ceremony and personal vows. We basically customized our own ceremony program and reception program. (Customization: I think that’s the key to making your wedding your day, and unique.)
Our venue was like a secret garden, we had our ceremony in a closed-in garden area where I walked down a garden maze and into the secluded area. There were a lot of places our guest could explore and enjoy afterward.
