In addition to celebrating their marriage, Juliana and Brian knew they wanted to celebrate their favorite Old Town Alexandria neighborhood. They chose two iconic, historic locations in this storybook Virginia town, beginning at Carlyle House with a quaint garden ceremony with a few pops of purple. I love intimate “I do’s” and with a personal friend officiating and guests gathered close around, Juliana and Brian’s are the perfect example. Don’t forget to check out their portraits by the water and restaurant reception here too, all captured by Maggie Winters Photography!
From Juliana: “We wanted our wedding to be elegant, yet simple. We knew we definitely wanted to be married outside, so the Carlyle House garden in Alexandria was very appealing. Neither of us are big dancers, and our priority was good food. We decided to have a guest-centered reception dinner in the upstairs room at Union Street, one of our favorite Old Town restaurants. We liked that both of our venues were historic, reflecting the character of our neighborhood.”
Tristan, a good friend of the Brian’s from college who was recently ordained as a minister, served as the officiant. It meant so much to us to have someone we know perform the wedding. He added some jokes to the ceremony he knew would make us laugh!
