Vow renewals are so utterly romantic, and today’s celebration is no exception.  After five years of marriage, Mari and Patrick renewed their vows with an intimate fall ceremony in picturesque Old Town Alexandria.  Allison and Chris Britton Photography was there to capture the couple’s genuine happiness and laughter as they celebrated true love with their family.

From Mari:  We reached our 5-year marriage anniversary in 2010, and we felt it was a huge milestone that we should celebrate!  Since we never had an official wedding, this was the time we started thinking, “Will we ever have one?  If we do, when would be the best time?”

Every relationship is different, but for us, this was the best time to have the official wedding celebration.  I am so glad we had it when we did – it was such a perfect time for us in our lives.  I also realized that it is so important to celebrate milestones in relationships (in any form).  Marriage is a life-long commitment and it’s also an accomplishment!
