Happy Monday everyone! We’re getting right to it this week with an unbelievably gorgeous modern wedding from Michelle Lindsay Photography. Emily and Carl wanted a cool and modern take on the Great Gatsby for their evening rooftop wedding, and incorporated metallic elements throughout the celebration to bring their wedding vision to reality.
From the bride, Emily: My inspiration was to make it look cool and loungy, yet ethereal (and starry) and have a Great Gatsby quality. I only wanted metallics, white, cream, and black. I wanted it to look glitzy, but not gaudy. My maids and I made the stars as aisle decorations. I mixed and matched all of the jewelry, all my bangles and the girls necklaces. I gave the girls glittery Toms shoes, in gold and silver, as gifts, and made sure that our florist used a gold draping over the Chuppah.
We love Emily’s modern and stylish braided hair style and those bracelets are amazing!
Those stars are such beautiful aisle decorations!
We’ll be back soon with more from Emily and Carl’s wedding reception! In the meantime, if you’re looking for more Washington DC area wedding inspiration, check out our inspiration and ideas gallery!
