It can be a bit tricky to pull off an outdoor Washington DC area wedding ceremony in November, but Beth and Jeff knew that ThorpeWood, a 155-acre mountain retreat located in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains, was the perfect venue for their wedding last fall. Beth and Jeff love nature and became engaged while hiking; the rustic setting provided a lovely setting for both the outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception. Rachael from The Observatory was there to capture all the details:
Beth and Jeff’s shared love of nature was woven throughout every detail of their wedding day from the floral arrangements to their wedding bands to the table name cards at the reception.
How adorable are these ponies at ThorpeWood?! Such a delightful surprise for guests both big and small…
For the reception, Beth and Jeff and their guests moved indoors to ThorpeWood’s main lodge, with a cozy seating area and a fireplace to help keep guests warm through the evening. Beth and Jeff chose red and orange accents to complement the lodge’s rustic interior decor.
Such a lovely fall wedding!
