Happy Monday everyone! Today we’re beyond thrilled to be featuring our first Baltimore wedding! Captured by Jennifer McMenamin Photography, Sylvia and Tim’s classic spring wedding took place at the height of cherry blossom season in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. Sylvia chose a soft pink and green color palette that complemented the early spring season and the neighborhood’s distinctive architecture.
From Sylvia: Although my husband and I are both from California originally, we had met in Baltimore and wanted to be married in the place we had made our home. One of Baltimore’s many charms is its distinct seasons. When I first moved here, I was dazzled by the beauty of spring cherry blossoms and knew that I wanted them to play a big part in our wedding. We looked up the estimated peak bloom date for the National Cherry Blossom Festival and picked that weekend for our big day.
We wanted every detail to complement the cherry blossom season and the late 19th century architecture of the Mount Vernon neighborhood. We chose pale blossom pink and moss green as the main colors. I wore a draped duchesse satin dress with a sweetheart neckline from Ulla-Maija Couture. The junior bridesmaid wore a pale pink lace trapeze dress with satin trim from Un, Deux, Trois.
Our invitations (from Crane & Co.) were letterpress printed on ivory card stock with a moss green blossom motif. Shawn Nocher of The Floral Studio designed a large hydrangea wreath for the church door, and our mothers carried pink peony posies. My bouquet was a fluffy mix of white and pale pink peony, ranunculus, and viburnum with a moss green satin wrap.
Sylvia and Tim’s wedding ceremony took place at the historic Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, and was officiated by the Reverend James E. Taylor.
Aren’t those cherry blossoms so dreamy? We’ve got more from Sylvia and Tim’s beautiful spring wedding coming right up including the reception at a truly stunning venue. Check back soon!
