Two high school sweethearts, six years in the making, and one incredible Maryland marriage proposal caught on camera it’s going to be a sweet day, folks! Brad had been waiting for the best opportunity to surprise Blair with a marriage proposal, and when Blair’s godmother had invited them to come join her on a weekend trip to DC – he knew it was the perfect time! Brad got down on one knee on the rooftop of Pose Ultra Lounge with the DC skyline in the background and Evelyn Alas Photography there to capture every sweet moment. She, of course, said “yes” and now this adorable duo is now planning an October wedding!
From Blair: Brad and I are high school sweethearts! We started dating the summer before our senior year of high school in 2007 and have been going steady ever since! As for the proposal… WOW! He sure did good! I often ask myself what I did to deserve him? I was completely and utterly surprised! I thought we were going up to DC to meet my godmom and stay the weekend with her at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center because she was staying there for a business conference.
We were supposed to be going up to the rooftop lounge for drinks with some of her vendors that night when we arrived. We had arrived at the lounge a little early so we got drinks and decided to step out onto the balcony and look over at the beautiful waterfront scenery. Next thing I know, he’s down on one knee¦ and I said YES! To no exaggeration, it was everything I had ever dreamed of! He had a VIP section set up with roses and chocolate covered strawberries and champagne flutes (which we ended up filling up with beer”classy, we know!).
Congratulations Blair and Brad!
