Earlier this week we featured the Ultimate Sonoma Wine Road Honeymoon advice post with you all. Did you find it informative? We can’t think of a better spot for an intimate yet fun and exciting honeymoon. Planning on heading someone outside of the US? Hit up Sonoma for a mini-moon before the big one! Mini-moons are becoming more and more popular these days and we love it. Any excuse to have more than one trip with your new sweetie is okay with us. ANYWAY, whether you’re taking a full on honeymoon or a mini-moon in Sonoma, we know you’ve already started thinking about what to pack. Don’t panic! (We say that a lot here don’t we?!) We’ve got ya covered with some honeymoon packing essentials. Check out our Sonoma honeymoon must haves below. And click the photo or link for easy peezy shopping!
For fall traveling, layers are a must have. Yes, even in California! The nights can always get a bit chilly. Because of this we suggest cute jackets and scarves that can be easily added or discarded depending on the weather. Our top picks are the Madewell jean jacket (yes, we have one…) and this super cute fall scarf.
We are absolutely loving these leather jackets. Going from day to night is super easy with one of these bad boys. I mean, look at the leather jacket with rhinestone embellishment! Talk about chic. And the raw edge leather jacket is a little less rebel, a little more sophistication. We can’t get enough.
For nights out on the town, we love this sequin jacket or this velvet sheath dress. They’re just the right amount of fun and fancy without being too over the top! And we won’t fault you if you wear that amazing jacket during the day. It’s your honeymoon. Shine baby, shine!
Shoes & Accessories
SHOES! They’re always important when packing your bags. For fall we like sticking to booties, sneakers, and flats, especially when walking is involved. We absolutely adore these wine red velvet sneakers! Yes, we are loving velvet… During the day when you’re walking around the vineyards and exploring wine country, sneaks or flats are best. When you head into the evening, switch over to some cute cut out booties!
We are loving gold jewelry these days! There are so many style possibilities. We love items that can be taken from day to night like the stunning gold and quartz Kendra Scott necklace and textured drusy stud earrings.
Now we all know that bags are a must have when honeymooning. And of course you’ll want to purchase a new one special. For wine country honeymooning we suggest a cross body bag. Not only will you want to pack snacks and goodies, but you’ll also want to be hands free! There is nothing worse than actually carrying a bag around all day. The Marc Jacobs crossbody bag is a little bigger so you can carry around more things, whereas the Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag is smaller. Take your pick!
I could buy sunglasses all day long. Seriously, I have way too many pairs of sunnies. I could wear a different one every day! How do you choose? We love these ultra trendy fully mirrored Ray Bans, but you can’t go wrong with a classic Prada cat eye!
Luggage is super important when packing for your honeymoon. It’s even more important when heading to wine country. You might think you and your sweetie just want a carry on each but think again. If you’ll be buying any wine you can’t take that in the cabin with you! Make sure you have at least one suitcase for wine! Also, you want to make sure it’s pretty durable, just for peace of mind. We love this wine red luggage from Tumi and rose gold two piece set!
Speaking of peace of mind… You want to make sure all of your takeaway wine stays safe! You can get fancy with this wine tote that holds two bottles. If that’s not your style, go for the cheaper wine cushion! Either way, keep it safe.
Everyone loves a roadie wine! Make sure you have a special cup or tumbler for your VIP tours. As we said before, we highly suggest Healdsburg Vino Tours for comfort, ease, and an overall great experience! What could be better than a personalized Yeti tumbler?! Keep that wine at the perfect temperature all day long.
We know you’ll be taking tons of photos with your new sweetie. You might even be sending some home to friends and family. Be careful though! Reception can be spotty in wine country and that means a quickly draining battery, no matter how hard you try. Make sure you have some portable chargers with you so you won’t miss out on snapping any pics! If you’re willing to splurge, go for the Mophie charger! It is a case and a charger.
