When Scott first contacted Winnie, of Winnie Dora Photography, to talk about his and his bride-to-be Vicky’s wedding plans, he emphasized that he really wanted their wedding to be “for Vicky- she’s always thinking about other people and taking care of others, so I just want to have this wedding for her, so that she’s the one being taken care of for a change.” What a sweet sentiment that truly embodies the giving nature that is marriage! You can tell how much these two truly love each other just by glimpsing at these engagement photos. The joy that they find in one another’s company is infectious. Winnie says she found herself constantly bursting into laughter with them throughout the engagement session.
Winnie spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon with Scott and Vicky for their Washington, DC engagement session. They really explored quite a few iconic locations. The DC War Memorial, Constitution Gardens, and the Reflection Pool were among their choices in addition to the slightly off the beaten path Teddy Roosevelt Island.
In their session, Scott and Vicky visited a spot on Roosevelt Island that overlooks the water. Living nearby, Scott comes to Roosevelt Island frequently as part of his morning runs, and finds comfort in the peace and quiet so close to some of DC’s most bustling areas. After he met Vicky, he showed her this place, and it quickly became important to both of them. As he explained it, “This used to be my spot. Now it’s our spot.” Cue the collective “awwwww!” from everyone reading. Aren’t these two just the sweetest?! Congrats to Scott and Vicky, who are getting married at President Lincoln’s Cottage in DC this month.
